AGTA 2015 Conference workshop abstract

Presenter: Claire Richards

Workshop title: Art and hands-on activities in the geography classroom

Workshop abstract: The nature of how we educate and learn is undergoing significant change. The Australian Curriculum states ‘Information and communication technologies are fast and automated, interactive and multimodal, and they support the rapid communication and representation of knowledge to many audiences and its adaptation in different contexts.’ To build a smarter future, Geography teachers need to be both highly innovative in their use of the new technologies and very savvy about getting the most out of their existing technology investments. Those not innovating will get left behind. During Innovative ICT in the Geography Classroom session, participants will have an opportunity to discover how emerging communications and collaboration technologies are enabling their digitally-equipped students and transforming the learning experience.
