Workshop title: The Great Barrier Reef - past, present and future

Workshop abstract: Recent visit to Port Douglas with day tours to the Outer and Inner Reefs reminded me that these structures are living organisms built on the remains of their pre-decessors. This session will examine the past history of reef structures, the present threats and why these features will continue to survive into the future.
