Mike Fazio is President of GAWA and Head of Department, Society and Environment, at Leeming SHS in WA. He has taught geography for about 23 years at secondary and tertiary levels and worked in both central and district offices of DET on policy development and curriculum implementation projects. Mike has also served as the president of the Social Studies Association od WA and the Social Educators Association of Australia.

Rita Shepherd is the President of GTASA and currently a teacher at St Dominic's Priory College where she is Director of Curriculum and Head of the SOSE Faculty. She also teaches the Geography Curriculum and Methodology Course at Adelaide University.
